Top 10 Best Types of Doodle Dog Breeds

Aussiedoodle
A cross between a Poodle and an Australian Shepherd, the Aussiedoodle is one of the most gorgeous types of doodles, many of which often have one or two blue eyes. Aussiedoodles get the playful side of Aussies without the shedding! They are silly, smart, and easy to train. They do however require a lot more exercise compared to other doodles.

Bernedoodle
The Bernedoodle is a mixture of a poodle and a Bernese Mountain Dog! Their coat can be one color or be a mix of colors that comes from the Bernese side with spots of brown and red. These dogs are typically bigger than most doodles as Bernese Mountain Dogs are large breeds. Bernedoodles are loving, playful, but not the easiest to train.

Sheepadoodle
Sheepadoodles are some of the cutest types of doodles! A mix between a Poodle and an Old English Sheepdog, this doodle breed should definitely be considered. They almost always come out black gray, and white, with a rare few that have brown spotting. Some of them are lucky enough to be born with blue eyes, a recessive trait in Old English Sheepdogs! They are similar looking to the Aussiedoodle. They have similar behavior traits as well due to the sheep dog nature of a both dogs.

Goldendoodle
Goldendoodles are low key the breed that probably started the whole doodle trend, but for good reason! This cross between a Poodle and a Golden Retriever is so unbelievably cute! Goldendoodles seem to come in countless sizes, from toy to standard large. They also come in loads of colors! They are all-around great dogs with friendly personalities and teddy bear looks.

St. Berdoodle
St. Berdoodles are some of the biggest doodles you can find! A mixture of a poodle and a St. Bernard, they can be stubborn at times and like to be the boss of other pets in the household, but they are incredibly intelligent and always down to lounge around. St. Berdoodles may shed more than other doodles due to the coat of the St. Bernard.

Pyrdoodle
A Pyrdoodle is a type of doodle breed that you may haven’t heard of! The Pyrdoodle is a poodle and a Great Pyrenees. They are not as popular as other types of doodles, as they are quite a noisy breed. They are bigger than the average doodle and usually have straighter hair rather than curly. These dogs are loyal, smart, and eager to please their owners, not to mention absolutely adorable!

Bordoodle
The Bordoodle is a mixture of a Poodle and a Border Collie. This breed is the smartest type of doodle you can own, with border collies being the smartest dog breed out there. They look very similar to Aussiedoodles, but they have a bit of a more mellow temperament. They are highly trainable and great family dogs.

Dalmadoodle
The Dalmadoodle isn’t a type of doodle you’ll find very often! As you may have guessed, it’s a cross between a Poodle and a Dalmation. Spotty and playful, Dalmadoodles almost always come out black and white coloring. These dogs can be a bit tough to train but they make great companions and are always down to try new activities, without the full shedding of a dalmation!

Labradoodle
The Labradoodle is a must-mention in the list of best doodles! After Goldendoodles, the Labradoodle is the second most popular type of doodle. A mix between a Poodle and a Labrador Retriever, this doodle has all the right traits with the kindness of a Labrador and intelligence of a Poodle. They come in multiple colors and are often medium to large-sized.

Great Danoodle
The Great Danoodle tops the St. Berdoodle as it’s an obvious splice of a Poodle and a Great Dane. These large doodles are gentle giants that are loyal and affectionate. The Great Danoodle will have much less shedding than full bred great dane. They are not common so you may pay a premium for one from a good breeder.
